Ingredients
- 6 cups warm water divided
- 6 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1 cup oil
- 5 Tbsp yeast
- 8 cups flour
- Another 8-9 cups flour
- canola oil for frying

Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl combine 5 cups warm water, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Take 1 cup of hot water and mix it with the 1 cup of oil and then add to the mixture in the mixing bowl.
- Add the flour cups at a time until 6 cups have been added.
- Beat this well and then add the remaining 8-9 cups flour one cup at a time until the flour is added making sure mixture is not too dry.
- Let rest in bowl and rise until above the rim. Then pour our onto floured surface.
- Roll out and cut for scones with cutter style of your choice. Let them rise briefly before cutting.
- While rising get deep fat fryer or large pan with several inches of oil in it heated.
- Drop scones into hot oil, carefully cook turning once top brown both sides.
- Drain fresh scones on paper towels.
- Open scones and fill with butter, jam or honey, or honey butter.
